Pedal the Cause is an event hosted by the San Diego Padres that brings communities together to raise money to accelerate research towards a cure. Participants ride, run, walk, and spin in honor of people in their lives who have been impacted by cancer. They are looking for volunteers for the day to help riders and runners recover from their events. As part of the recovery team, you will be able to practice your skills such as stretching, soft tissue mobilization, taping (if needed), mobilizations, and injury screens (when necessary). It's a great opportunity to get practical experience!
Saturday, April 13th, 8AM-3 AM
SDSU - check in at Manchester Hall
Explore SDSU is State’s open house for newly admitted students. At this event, SDSU departments and student organizations come out as a community to share their knowledge; showcase the quality of instruction and research, student services, and community opportunities, and give a warm welcome to all who attend. Most volunteers are placed at information tables, providing help to the families in attendance. This is a great event if you’re familiar with SDSU’s campus and good at giving directions!
California Outreach Challenge
The CA Outreach Challenge is a state-wide competition that challenges SPTs and SPTAs to accrue volunteer hours in their local communities. Students register online and log volunteer hours over the course of approximately 8 months. Students and programs with the highest number of logged volunteer hours will be recognized by the CA Student Special Interest Group (CASSIG) each year.
This year, the CA Outreach Challenge begins on June 15, 2023, and ends on June 15, 2024!
Current students can log their volunteer hours with the California Outreach Challenge.
