A Ground commander of Special Tactics Troops varying from CCT, PJ, TACP, SR, SERE, SOST. Serves as the main planner and strategist to make sure his or her men has everything they need to accomplish their mission. STO's look up and out to focus on the big picture while enlisted members focus down and in on the task at hand as experts in their fields. As a STO it is your job to properly implement your enlisted members expertise.

Derived from Army Pathfinders, the Combat Control Teams evolved into the most capable special mission team unit with a uniqe power to integrate air power to any SOF partner unit.

CCT focus on Air Traffic Controlling and Joint Terminal attack while officers focus on being a ground commander and focusing on the mission big picture.
