Currently, he works as a graduate research assistant at the Center for Public Health Systems and Minnesota Evidenced-Based Practice Center. Hawking currently serves as a committee member on the 2023-2024 AcademyHealth Long-Term Service and Supports Interest Group advisory committee. At the school, he takes on a leadership role as a co-chair at BeWELL across all University of Minnesota campuses. Hawking’s long-term goal is to become an independent researcher, informing policymakers about improving the financial well-being and health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Hawking earned his master’s degree in Healthcare Decision Analysis from the University of Southern California.
